Groups & Ministries

We’re thrilled to have many groups and ministries to know, love, and serve God and our neighbor. The links will take you to join the email list for said group, where you will be appraised of various upcoming events and opportunities.

Catholic Counseling:

Since early 2025, CCSB has sought to offer faith-based counseling services to our parish and the wider community, as part of our commitment to healing and wellness of the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. These services operate independently of parish ministry, and the counselors are not parish employees — but we’re grateful for the ways share our mission of care. Katie Pestka has been offering counseling opportunities at CCSB for awhile, and may be reached at katie@mariathroncounseling.com.

We welcome Dr. Jerry T. Lawler as a counselor, joining Katie Pestka in offering mental health support to our community. Dr. Lawler is a licensed clinical psychologist with 26 years of experience in Maryland, and a “home grown” Catholic himself, having entered the Church 25 years ago through RCIA at Good Counsel. A South Baltimore resident, he worships at the Basilica and occasionally joins us at Holy Cross on Ravens game days when parking gets tight! Dr. Lawler sees adults 18 and over for depression, anxiety, phobias, stress, substance abuse, relationship struggles, and more, blending a faith-based approach with best clinical practices. He accepts most insurance and offers a sliding scale for those in need. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, you can reach him directly at jlawler0@gmail.com.

Please let us know if we can help you in any way.
