Walking in the Garden: A Day of Prayer & Community

Saturday, June 29
Join CCSB for a day of prayer, community, and time together in the great outdoors on our trip to Harper's Ferry!

We'll begin at the historic St. Peter's Chapel overlooking Harper's Ferry with a guided meditation and silent reflection before our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration:

"And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden."
                   - Genesis 3:8 (RSVCE)

In this verse, we see a God who, in His love, walks with us and seeks us out in relationship, despite our mistakes; all are welcome to join us in prayer and meet Him in His Eucharistic presence, followed by a hike in His creation along Harper Ferry's trails!

Please note the trails are considered to be difficult, rated moderately strenuous to strenuous with steep, rocky inclines and declines. The hike is estimated to take about 4 hours.

Bring snacks for the ride and pack a lunch to eat on the trails during the hike. We'll end the day with a meal together at a local restaurant in Harper's Ferry! Individuals are responsible for dining expenses. Be sure to bring enough water for the day, too--general guidelines recommend at least 1 Liter per person!

We will meet at Holy Cross Church (110 E West St., Baltimore, MD 21230) at 8:45AM and depart for Harper's Ferry at 9:00AM. We are also seeking volunteers for carpools; let us know below if you are able to drive!

Cost is $10 per person. Please Venmo @CCSB9 with the Memo "Harper's Ferry", or we can also accept cash or check the morning of the event.
